Can anyone give us information about the various helicopter tours over New York/Manhattan?

 

What are the different tours available?

How long do they last?

How much do they cost?

Where do they go?

Which is the best value?

Which would you recommend?

We did it for our in-laws as an anniversary gift and it was breathtaking, very expensive, and a short ride. If I remember correctly it was around $250 for 20 minutes.

It seems that there are different length rides you can take - the shortest and cheapest being 5/7 mins for about $65. Has anyone experienced this? :)

i have not done a helicopter ride in NYC. but did do one over the grand canyon. and let me tell you...5-7min would just be enough for you to snap pics. can't imagine that would be worth it.

 

you could take that money and buy several aerial shot posters...hehehhehe.

There are some package "deals" available through Circle Line tours which are really a good value. 10/12 minutes helicopter + 3 hours Circle Line cruise for about $150.00.

 

You cannot purchase the tickets in advance. You MUST go to the Circle Line office on W. 42nd St.

 

Took some employees who had never been to NYC on one of the Circle Line trips in April (2 hour cruise/11 minutes helicopter-$137.00pp). Everyone had fun. It is really special to see the reactions of people who have never been to NYC-all the ooohs and aaaahs.
