transat_jon Posted November 21, 2004 #108 Share Posted November 21, 2004 Micheal : I will post my opinions and some photos on my vacation pics website. I had hoped to get that done this weekend but it's not looking that likely (my last couple of weeks have been a bit hectic). Vic : From last week I live in Southampton. I don't think I will be able to get to the London pre trip meet although I would like to; I imagine I will be packing that night! Gary B : I took a number of pics of one of the suites for you. I'd noticed you asking for specs before but I forgot which cabin you wanted when I was there, so I got the wrong one (8014).

morgana Posted November 21, 2004 #110 Share Posted November 21, 2004 Gary I was on the Oct 21 QE2 cruise (same one as RJMS) and was in cabin 8106 (with the obstructed view). Have some pictures of the cabin we are working on now, so hopefully can get them to you in the near future. Morgana

Counting the days ....... counting the days ........ Of course, now that it's close, the hours will drag. And anticipation will kick in somewhat more. All I need are my docs ........ sfo-john Posted November 23, 2004 #113 Share Posted November 23, 2004 I'm happy to say that I got my documents on Friday. I had Cunard overnight them to me after a lot of confusion. I'm heading out of San Francisco next week and didn't want to chance them no showing up before I left. I'm very excited about my whole vacation, especially finishing it up on the QE2!! BrianBoru Posted November 23, 2004 #114 Share Posted November 23, 2004 Crossing docs arrived moments ago! The good news is we're upgraded to Caronia. The bad news is a crappy outbound connection to London. Oh well. Counting the days and soon the minutes. Chris

Vic The Parrot Posted November 23, 2004 #117 Share Posted November 23, 2004 Oh yea..... Cunard seems to be pretty generous in upgrades for this crossing. Think I'll call my TA, and ask her if there's any hope for me. (Any hope for me....) No comments from the peanut gallery! :-D

signman Posted November 27, 2004 #120 Share Posted November 27, 2004 For anyone arranging transfer to Southampton on your own, National Coach has "funfares" of only one pound available from London's Victoria Coach Station. transat_jon Posted November 27, 2004 #121 Share Posted November 27, 2004 I am sure all of you will appreciate my new desk here in Southampton. 11th floor in the centre looking over the docks. In the last few days I have seen Aurora, Oriana and Marco Polo (just the funnel). The Cunard terminal is just round the corner so I can't see it from my desk but well you can't have everything. In Edinburgh I was also looking over the docks from a similar height but here has a larger number of grand visitors a year. On the 15Dec04 I will probably pop in to get some pics of QE2 before I head on board.

Vic The Parrot Posted November 30, 2004 #125 Share Posted November 30, 2004 Oh yea Don't forget your swim trunks for the indoor pool. It's really neat to dip your head under water, and listen to the hum of the engines. (Another late tidbit for Gary....) Hi Gar! :-)
