Proud Mom Posted June 30, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 30, 2007 Has anyone ever received a discount off the second person sailing? If so, how much? How far in advance of the sailing date does such a discount come out? I appreciate any input to my questions.:)
wieslaw Posted June 30, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 30, 2007 Hi, from what I know ( and probably that is not much ) the cabins are priced on the bases of minimum of two 'persons' to a cabin....so there would not be a discount "of the second person sailing"..... except if the second person was older than you and the "senior" discount was offered ..... so both cabin occupants could get the same discount based on the older person ( at least 55), or a military discount was offered and one did qualify for it, or there was a "resident" discount and one person qualified for it ....... then the second person could get and take advantage of such a discount. As far as when the discounts or just 'general price drops occur ..... that isprobably based on either the projection of the cruise line's marketing people how well that particular sailing will sell or based on the actual numbers of cabins being sold ...... if someting sell well - no need for a discount, if something does not sell well - better to make less money than to have empty cabins.....here come the discounts...... like anything else : supply and demand. Rare Keith1010 Posted June 30, 2007 #3 Share Posted June 30, 2007 There are two types of pricing. One is a cabin for single occupancy and the other is a cabin for double occupancy. You don't receive a discount for a second person. Sometimes cruise lines advertise two for one specials. Keith
