WIT Posted July 1, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 1, 2007 Always take Bonnine on big cruise ships. First time on river cruise, do I even have to worry about it? Judy:) Judy - Occasionally the ship (Amadagio last December) would use bow thrusters to adjust position but never did I experience swaying sufficiewnt to make me queasy. But it never hurts to be prepared. WIT

npphotog Posted July 1, 2007 #5 Share Posted July 1, 2007 Judy - No waves on the river...We did have a hydrofoil zip by once and it did create a little wake...no big deal. Relax on board and have a good time. Willard
Rare steamboats Posted July 2, 2007 #6 Share Posted July 2, 2007 Judy, That´s the main advantage of river cruises: no motion sickness!!! First you usually don´t have any major waves. Second you can always see the land and that makes the difference! steamboats
Chesie Posted July 2, 2007 #7 Share Posted July 2, 2007 Was never a problem. Sometimes we didn't even know we were moving! Chesie
Tennessee Traveler Posted July 2, 2007 #8 Share Posted July 2, 2007 Never a problem. In fact I slept great aboard with the slight motion of the ship. It was always a smooth ride - much better than on a large cruise ship. Have fun!
ChefPeg Posted July 10, 2007 #9 Share Posted July 10, 2007 Thanks everyone, this is all good to know! I thought it would be a smooth but it's nice to hear it from the experienced cruisers.
