jazzyj40 Posted July 3, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 3, 2007 I am going on the Valor on 8/19 and I would like to know which floor the riviera deck is on, also is it calm sailing on that deck, because I cruised the imagination on the main deck which was the 4th floor. Also this is a quad does anyone know the layout is it a way to put two beds together and the others like bunk beds or are there 4 bunk beds. Thanks for your response :)
BlueJacketsFan1 Posted July 3, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 3, 2007 Riviera is deck 1, it should be pretty smooth sailing. That is the lowest deck with cabins. Some of the quads are the two bed together and a hide a bed sofa. While other have the borths.
serene56 Posted July 3, 2007 #3 Share Posted July 3, 2007 a quad cabin-- depends if this is an oceanview or an inside cabin inside cabin will have two lower beds and two upper beds. oceanviews will have 2 lower beds an upper bed and a sofa bed when looking at the deck plans there is a legend of symbols on what bedding is in each cabin. as for feelingmotion--the lower you are the better- the higher you go the more you will feel the sway. But if you hit rough waters you will feel the sway no matter where you are.
RzrLens Posted July 3, 2007 #4 Share Posted July 3, 2007 We're on the Riviera deck in November on the Valor-- I look forward to your review!!! We sailed on the Riviera deck on the Elation and didn't notice hardly any movement. The rule of thumb is the lower and more towards the middle you can get, the best chance at escaping sea sickness. But the above poster is right-- if it is REALLY rough, you'll feel it regardless of where you are. Usually most of the rooms with the two lower beds can be put together to make a King, and they will do it for you before you get on board. Here's a legend for the rooms (The Riviera is the lowest deck on the image):
yst347 Posted July 3, 2007 #5 Share Posted July 3, 2007 Here is a picture of a 6E on the Valor. The cabin has the floor to ceiling window but the bunks are the same as the 6A's and the standard 6B's. You can see the two lower singles are pushed together to form a queen. The sofa has been converted to a bed and a birth has been pulled from the wall. This is Cat.4 inside on sister ship Conquest. The two lowers are set up as single bed. This picture is also on Conquest but the two lowers are together forming a queen. Only a few cabins cannot offer the option of two lower singles or 1 lower queen by combining them. All standard category 4 and 6 cabins offer this option. The ones that do not have a symbol that identifies them on the Carnival website deck plans.
