Homosassa Posted July 8, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 8, 2007 We dropped my DD and a friend off at Port Canaveral yesterday to cruise on the Carnival Glory. Passenger drop off was a disaster. It took us 1 HOUR to go 1/10 mile to the pier drop off. The Carnival pier has 10 passenger drop off parking spaces which are head in parking. The process involves waiting on line until a space becomes available, being waved into the spot by an employee, unloading the passengers and luggage, waiting to be told to back out of spot by employee and leaving. If you tried to have the passengers leave the vehicle before the sacred ten spots, security screams at you. You can not drive into the parking garage to drop the passengers without paying for one day of parking. We were at the port early (11:45 AM); by the time we left, the drop off line was 3 times longer than when we arrived. We are suppose to pick the girls up next Saturday. Has anyone recently picked up passengers from the Glory? Is the pick up area for passengers larger and more efficient? Anyone have any hints? I can't believe that we will be stuck on a 1 -2 hour line again for pick up!!!! This was our first time at Port Canaveral for Carnival; we have been there for other cruise lines and had the expected fast, efficient passenger drop off and pick up. We got off the ship yesterday. Several folks mentioned this is the worst they ever saw PC...this was even from the hotel shuttle that obviously frequents PC. Who knows?
