mpk Posted May 6, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 6, 2004 Do Princess ships have in-cabin safes? Specifically, I need to store a small laptop that I use to unload pictures from my digital camera.
pizal Posted May 6, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 6, 2004 To my knowlege all cabins have small safes. I'm not sure whether a computer will fit or not.
Urban trekker Posted May 6, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 6, 2004 Lap tops won't fit the safes - I just did a 21 day Panama canal cruise and just left my laptop on the cabin table for the entire trip without any fear of something happening to it. Others travelling in a group with me also just left them in their cabins and no problems. Cabin stewards are exceptionally honest so I don't think you need to worry. Budget Queen Posted May 7, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 7, 2004 I would not leave the laptop in plain view. It is foolish to think there is never any theft and everyone is honest. Perhaps lock it in your luggage? It won't fit in any safe.
mpk Posted May 7, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted May 7, 2004 Thanks for the info. I too would not leave the laptop out in the open. Who knows, maybe another guest might see it and pilfer it. If the safes are the same kind they use in hotels, my laptop does fit in there. It goes in diagonally, but it is a tight fit and scratches the corner of the laptop a bit. Treven Posted May 7, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 7, 2004 On the NCL Star, my laptop certainly would not fit in the safe, but I left it out all the time and didn't have the slightest concern of someone lifting it. In addition during the evening my digital camera was also left out. I really think that the cabin attendents know everyone (in their area) by sight after the first day and would make sure that someone they didn't recognize would not be in someone's cabin unattended.
