Rare shof515 Posted December 26, 2016 #4026 Share Posted December 26, 2016 So a few days ago I called the NCL phone number for points to be redeemed. They moved 5,000 points over and gave me a $50.00 OBC. I don't know where to find that credit when I log into my NCL account. So I called my cruise agent with NCL in Florida and he said yes the credit for the 5000 points is on your account. My question would be is there a way I can view this credit on my account and if so how? Thanks ask for an amenity statement and it should be on there. It should be posted somewhere on the vacation summary page in your account

skeeter195 Posted December 28, 2016 #4028 Share Posted December 28, 2016 I wish had gotten this card sooner. I have 2 cruises booked and plan on maxing out the card in the casino(20k). Taking the cash home and paying off the card. I will get 60,000 points on each cruise. The best thing is that I am Golden in the casino so I save the 3% cash advance fee that the casino normally takes. Has anyone been able to use an upgrade on an already CAS comped room? HowardK Posted December 29, 2016 #4029 Share Posted December 29, 2016 Hello, I am getting the card next week , could you please let me know if the following scenario makes sense, my cruise will be September, 2018. I'll start with the 10,000 points and spend $1,000 in charges to get the 5,000 points. Then at some point later in the year I will spend another $5,000 over time and hit 20,000 points. My plan then is in March, 2018 to apply the 20,000 in points for $200 off the cruise. I will then pay the balance of the cruise for (Original price- $200 discount) x 3 points per dollar. I then project before the cruise sometime in the summer then using perhaps 10,000 points for a $100 OBC. (Or perhaps by then $150 OBC) Any recommendations in terms of adding the 4 meal SDP- can I get this on board, or would I better off converting remaining points for cash in the summer and getting the SDP before hand. I already have UDP as promo. Its the Escape- I am not inclined to use points for an upgrade- I might do the bidding if they have it as the upgrade isnt crucial for me. Thanks! Quilting_Cruiser Posted December 29, 2016 #4030 Share Posted December 29, 2016 Sounds good. Just keep in mind it takes a little bit of time for the earned points to go into your rewards account--I think it happens on the statement cycle date. What works well for you may not be the way others do it, but if it works for you then go for it. :D

Briji04 Posted January 17, 2017 #4032 Share Posted January 17, 2017 We had originally booked a suite on our upcoming cruise. However, we decided to decrease the cruise cost and increase our allowance for private tours. So we changed our suite to an inside room (I1) last month. We are platinum so we thought an inside shouldn't be too bad with the added perks like dinner for two etc. My husband just called the number to upgrade our inside cabin to a balcony using 60,000 points. He was told that due to booking our cruise last year when prices were lower,we would have to pay 4,000$ on top of our 60,000 points  Has anyone else had this experience? Yes, we had an experience like yours. Come to find, the first person we talked to didn't know what THEY were talking about ! (She first admitted, "I've never dealt with anyone before who had 60,000 points). Try again. You have done the first step... your cruise has been booked. I don't know where or when you are cruising, but I suggest you keep working at this. Offers seem to vary, depending on different NCL sailings. Maybe you should just save your points for another cruise. Edited January 17, 2017 by $hip$hape
TifffanyD Posted January 17, 2017 #4034 Share Posted January 17, 2017 Something kind of similar happened to me - they said the difference was too much money. Called back the next business day and they took care of it no problem. When I related my original experience she checked my account and said no call was recorded - that I must have been rerouted to another department. Call and make sure you are talking to World Points and keep calling if you have to.

Someone doesn't know what they are doing. You need to call the Rewards points department directly at 1-866-954-4077. There's a staff of about 8 that handle this. There is no limit dollar wise to how much the points themselves cover. It's flat out just 60k points to go from inside to balcony. From what level of inside to what side balcony doesn't make much sense to me though. I've been told it's highest level inside to lowest level balcony, but then the same person took me from an OA to a BA (30K points. This is back when they just started giving the real FREE beverage packages with oceanview and up) The second time I upgraded using 60K points I went from IB to BD angled balcony. No rhyme or rhythm to their system!

Just for clarification.....If you are in lowest inside and use 60k points you might not get a balcony if lowest balcony category is sold out. You need to meet equally. if you are in 3rd level of inside you get 3rd level Balcony. So if you book later and lower balcony categories are sold out, you need to work back, and yes pay a little more to equal out. But still a great deal overall. You are 100% correct on the world points staff. Get one of them or else call back. Steve

Rare mscdivina2016 Posted January 20, 2017 #4049 Share Posted January 20, 2017 Hi, do the points expire at any date? Thanks! 5 years from date earned. so if you don't use them for 5 years (60 months)every month after 60 months, the 61st month will drop off or expire.
