Fishing - Ketchikan or Sitka?

I'm looking for a fishing trip for my husband for either May 26th in Sitka or May 27th in Ketchikan. I would like to surprise him and therefore can't ask his opinions. I'm NOT a fisherman, or is that fisherwoman and therefore I need some help! I want him first and foremost to enjoy the sport of it. It's nice if he actually catches something, but I want him to have fun!

I've already been in touch with Ken at Northern Lights in Ketchikan. He says there is about a 50% chance of catching a salmon at this time of year. I haven't contacted anyone in Sitka yet although I hear the halibut fishing is good.
Which port, and which charter would you fishermen recommend?

Thanks for your help!!

You are early- I would go with who recommends the best fishing opportunities. Nothing worse for a fisherman than no fish.
