taxi from penn station

We are taking the amtrak for our cruise on the 21st. We arrive at Penn station at 10:35. How far is it to the Dawn port? Also my son and his girlfriend are with us. will we be able to get in one taxi together? I don't want our group to be seperated.

There's a taxi line outside Penn Station. You can get a larger cab for 4 but if you get "stuck" taking two cars, you will only be apart for a few minutes & it won't be that hard to get reconnected at the port. The pier is only a few blocks away but you can't really walk it.

I don't think you'll get 4 people and luggage into one of the cabs in front of Penn - they generally are regular cabs, not minivans. But it's easy enough to get two cabs.

Anyone know how much a taxi from Penn station to port would cost, and how long a ride? Thanks

Should be around $10 if traffic is not too terrible & take 10 minutes. If it's bumper to bumper who knows.

We've had four adults with large luggage and carry-ons in a regular cab and it can be done. It is a tight fit and you'll have to hold a couple of small bags but those huge trunks do hold four large bags.

 

A cab from Penn Station to the pier should be less than $15 including tip and take about 5-10 minutes.
