curiouscruiser Posted May 11, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 11, 2004 We're leaving from Seward. Where is the closest place to the dock/pier to buy diapers and such that we don't want to haul from Missouri?? Yukon Posted May 11, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 11, 2004 Not a silly question at all, Sue. At least a couple of stores downtown sell them - it's a couple of miles, easily reachable by hopping on "Seward's Trolley." Murray
curiouscruiser Posted May 11, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted May 11, 2004 Thanks! We weren't sure if we needed to stop in Anchorage and buy them there or not.... Rare Clay Clayton Posted May 12, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 12, 2004 While there is at least one supermarket in Seward, if you are going to be in Anchroage with a car, you might want to think about getting diapers there...there is a big walmart about halfway between the airport and dowtown..we stopped and stocked up on some GREAT trail mix and some other things we didn't feel like packing. Budget Queen Posted May 12, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 12, 2004 I too would suggest picking up your items in Anchorage. There is a Walmart on the Old Seward Highway and plenty of Fred Meyer's and Carr's.
curiouscruiser Posted May 12, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted May 12, 2004 Well, we're doing the train from Anchorage to Seward, but we did buy transfers so I don't know if we'll be coping with luggage or not. So, buying in Anchorage would be easiest? Budget Queen Posted May 13, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 13, 2004 Anchorage would certainly offer you more products and would be cheaper. In Skagway - you will probably only find limited brands- more costly too.
