Casinos?

How are the casinos? Do they have 3 card poker? Are they open for long periods on sea days. Are they well attended? We are "casino rats" lol!, hence the questions. TIA, Linda

On the Mariner, they have Texas Hold'em Poker (regular table and a new electronic table version), 3 Card Poker, Blackjack, Roulette, and Craps along with the slot machines.

On true sea days, the slots were open from 10:00AM on. Tables were open from 2PM to 6PM and again from 9PM until the last players are done.

On port days, the slots and tables usually opened a half hour to an hour after departing from port.

There is also a tournament (of one of the games) on afternoons when the casino is open.

Yup. It is small. It is located next to the Piano Bar. I want to say there are two or three tables and then a small room off to the side with slot machines. I never went in that room so I don't know if there is a table in there or not.

 

If you go to the Regent web page you can get an idea of what it is like from the deck plans. It is on deck 5.

 

I do know they had table games and even a tournament or two but since I don't play I can't give you any details.

When we were on Navigator in February, they didn't have Texas Hold'em table(s). Just one 3-card poker, two blackjack tables, one roulette table, I think. The machines were across the hall in a different area/room.

Texas Hold 'em table and 3 card poker were both so popular on Voyager on the World Cruise (as was the whole casino). Both tables were full every night and it got to the point we had to do sign ups (first come, first serve) for nightly Texas Hold'em games. Sign up sheet was put out at 10:00am each day. It was a full table every night.

 

BUT I got off the Voyager after 2 week cruise (July 7) and for this entire 2 week cruise the casino was dead! Only on formal night were there about a dozen people in there. Maybe because since April 30th the casino on the Voyager has been non-smoking .....or maybe just not too many gamblers on board during this 2 week cruise.

 

The dealers on the Voyager are some of the nicest I've ever met! They confided that it has been really boring for them too with so few players.

As a former smoker, I don't like to make judgements about those who still partake. However, if the Casino gets too smoky (which can happen periodically), I do usually have to leave.

 

Wow, does this mean unlimited time to gamble? This could be dangerous . . .

We are just off the Mariner---the casino is not smoke-free, and the ventilation is not great
