We ate at The Twisted Fish in Juneau and my husband and father-in-law shared the king crab legs...they were HUGE and they were both stuffed when they were finished. END QUOTE

There is also a King Crab Shack behind the library that has huge King Crab Legs a little cheaper, but it is a sit outside type of place like you would see at a County Fair. But hey, King Crab is King Crab ;) Both of these places are in Juneau. There is also a lot of mention of The Office at Icy Straight Point.

I saw someone get King Crab Legs at Marx Bros Cafe in Anchorage--they were HUGE! Didn't have them myself, but I'm sure they were great. The woman took home a "doggy bag" and was very happy-looking.

Not at those ports but let me warn you about Seward. We went to Ray's and loved the food in Seward. However, my daughter had been craving King Crab Leg's so we splurged and let her get some at $34.95. I know that was crazy but that was what she had been looking forward to for months.......she loves them. If I were the type to send something back, I would have. There is no way that was a pound. There may have been 3 or 4 legs split and that was it. We all looked at it in shock that it was 34.95 for that very small amount plus.............she said they weren't very good. However, I got the halibut special and it was one of my favorite meals!!

Crab legs, but not in Alaska. On our trips to Alaska, we have seen king crab (it is frozen, not fresh except for one or two months a year) for prices ranging from $35 per pound to $75 for three pounds. No way.

Wife just got back from 2 weeks in Alaska backcountry and tonight we head for Harrah's Casino buffet. All the king crab, snow crab, shrimp, etc. we can eat for about $23. The legs we have had in the past are enormous. One time we thought the snow crab legs were king crab, they were so big.

Three hours of undisturbed crab leg munching. That is my kind of eating.

I don't gamble, but I sure am glad we have 4 casinos in town, each with at least two crab leg nights per week.

This is the King Crab Shack menu for behind the Library in Juneau. We didn't eat there, but they are on my list for next year. Don't know why I didn't take a pic of the crab legs he held up, but they were at least 3/4 lbs if not 1 lb each. (Click on the pic for larger pic)

By the picture of Crab Shack it looks like it is just an outside stand. Is it a sit down restaurant? It loks so good I can hardly wait to eat there in September.
