Mendenhall - transportation

We are wanting to hike through the Mendenhall Glacier area. Does anyone know how far this is from the cruise ship terminal? Any recommendations for easy/cheap transportation from the terminal?

Take the MGT shuttle bus, blue school buses. About $10 pp. Takes you to the visitor parking lot. Can return whenever you are ready. Don't have to use same shuttle.

Yes, $10 pp round trip for the shuttle. Consider the East Loop trail and the Nugget add on- if really into hiking. If looking at the West Glacier trail, you need a cab and arranged pick up or verified cell phone service.
