Best Beach near Barbados Port

Me and my husband want Barbados to be a relaxing and inexpensive port. We are just looking to either walk or take a short taxi ride to a somewhat quiet turquise beach with a good place to eat lunch. We aren't looking to do any water sports. Just a lazy day with a good view.

Thanks

Allie

Carlisle Bay, which probably(but not necessarily) means Boatyard beach hangout,

a popular place with cruisers: food and drink available.

Carlisle Bay is a sweeping two mile long curve of white sand,

with nice swimming but no real reefs to snorkel over.

Watersports available, if you want, and you're within sight of your cruise-ship.

On the other side of the Barbados Harbour is Brighton Beach,

which I've seen other posters refer to as Malibu Beach

(the name of a beach bar located there, under the trees)

-and again...food and drink available.

No shortage of beaches on Barbados (or on Antigua!)

I'd warn to stay away from Payne's Bay (just a little further up the road from the "Boatyard Beach"

We had a bad experience with renting Jet-skis, as well as it was very crowded, too many merchants, and too much new construction going on that ruins the views!!
