Happyladi Posted August 11, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 11, 2007 I am wondering how many people sneak liquor aboard to enjoy in their own cabins. If you did, did you leave it in the orginal bottle or put it into something else?

Rare Cruise Junky Posted August 11, 2007 #3 Share Posted August 11, 2007 ;) Click here: Rum Runner Flasks Absolutely the best item to pack. Sadly mine sprung a leak and leaked Vodka...luckily it wasn't over my clothes, so I definitely don't recommend these. The seam came apart on mine. Water Bottles are a good way to go. Toto2Kansas Posted August 11, 2007 #4 Share Posted August 11, 2007 Oh, that doesn't sound good at all. I can't even imagine taking the chance of booze soaked clothes when I open my luggage. Easier to find something onboard that would fit the bill.

We were travelling with another couple and I was saying how great they were, we were sitting on our deck around the table, I picked it up to show the guy and ended up soaking him and the table. jacketwatch Posted August 11, 2007 #8 Share Posted August 11, 2007 :D Of course!! I brought two bottle od Vodka recently in my checked luggage. vamcd Posted August 11, 2007 #9 Share Posted August 11, 2007 we are just back from crown princess 8/1/07. we packed a suitcase of beer in it's own suitcase-cushioned with foam and bubble wrapped and placed in a plastic bag-got thru to the room safe and sound. we also packed in our luggage a box of cabernet, and 4 liter bottles of gin. i work in an operating room so i took our liter plastic bottles that we have sterile saline in. we always pack our own, then we don't hesitate spending more on any specialty drinks and cappucino's. in san juan, those in our party walked right on with rums bought at the bacardi factory-in the factory carry on boxes and bags and no one collected it or cared to! bjkTX Posted August 11, 2007 #10 Share Posted August 11, 2007 We have always taken small amounts onboard with us. We use two small plastic bottles, then put then in zip lock bags - just in cast. On our last cruise we took 5 bottles of wine, each wrappen in bubble wrap and put in a seperate suitcase with underwear cushioning them. I figure if something broke, no big deal, easy enough to wash my stuff - and know one would know I was wearing red tinted shorts :-)
fathercop Posted August 11, 2007 #11 Share Posted August 11, 2007 On our last cruise, our cruising companions invited us over to their room for pre-dinner cocktail. They pulled out one large piece of luggage and had a homemade bar. They must have brought about 8 or 9 different large bottles of liquor - all in the original plastic bottles with plastic caps. We drank rather liberally and were unable in seven days to completely finish it all! And still we had a large bar tab! YIKES!
Spender Nui Posted August 11, 2007 #12 Share Posted August 11, 2007 I usually bring something because we enjoy a drink while getting ready for dinner. I have pre-ordered before boarding, and aside from being raped, it's not usually there when we want it. It's VERY inconvenient to call for room service when you want a drink now and don't want to wait around in your robe for delivery. We have wine for dinner every night and don't bring anything special, we buy from the wine list.
cruzkitty Posted August 11, 2007 #13 Share Posted August 11, 2007 Yes, we take a small bottle of bourbon in our checked luggage. We buy a plastic bottle and put it in a zip-lock bag. We only do this because Princess does not carry "our" preferred brand that we enjoy. We do buy foo-foo drinks, too. We leave what is left of the bourbon in our cabin-it's not worth carrying home and risking leakage.:D

I figure if something broke, no big deal, easy enough to wash my stuff - and know one would know I was wearing red tinted shorts :-) we put our Ketal one Vodka in two small water bottles, two boxes of wine (the better ones not those big ones) and some mixrs in plastic bottles. They all when into zip lock bags. they all went into their own small luggage with some other odd and end things. Also in Puerto Rico we bought a great deal of alcohol and carried it right on. Godovia Chocolate liquer, rum etc.... Had no issues. Ohh and we carried on three champagne bottles. BTW, we shared with friends and still came home with a little bit. And we also indulged in fruity mixed drinks... so it was all good!

busterfla Posted August 12, 2007 #16 Share Posted August 12, 2007 I buy my Bacardi in the one liter plastic bottle and double zip lock bag it. I put in the middle of my suitcase. I also bag a six pack of Diet Pepsi and put it in there too. I am good for a seven day cruise. My problem this time? the cruise is a 10 day. I guess a plastic pint bottle will do. And one other thing, after emptying out all the bottles, I have plenty of room for tees, caps and other junk.
Fuzzzy Posted August 12, 2007 #17 Share Posted August 12, 2007 Lots of creative things mentioned here. So, after you have it on board, what do you do with it then? Do you lock it in your safe.
Are we there yet? Posted August 12, 2007 #18 Share Posted August 12, 2007 No, although we have only been on one cruise so far, but am not taking any for the one next year. The reason is that I don't drink much anyway, and it mostly just puts me to sleep. Wine with dinner, and maybe a Margarita sometime during the day but thats all for me.........I want to remember this trip! Lol:D

mommykim Posted August 12, 2007 #20 Share Posted August 12, 2007 The only cruise I ever brought liqueur on was way back when I did a b2b Disney before they had the 1 week cruise available. There was no board like this that I knew of at that time and I was told there was no booze or casino on the Disney ship and silly me believed it :D

I had more fun on that cruise trying to get the various cast members to break character. They never did but it was fun!

JeepChick Posted August 12, 2007 #24 Share Posted August 12, 2007 I find sneaking booze to be a little tacky. We do bring wine, but we stay within the limit and we don't sneak anything. Just wondering....do you sneak beer in when you go to your favorite steakhouse?
mommykim Posted August 12, 2007 #25 Share Posted August 12, 2007 Just wondering....do you sneak beer in when you go to your favorite steakhouse? I do take my own bottle of wine to my local steakhouse when we go. Their wine list stinks!
