AZqueen Posted August 11, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 11, 2007 Who do you have to see to get off the ship soon after docking? We have an early pickup for a tour in Athens and don't want to have to wait till all the ship sponsored tours are taken off.
kitty9 Posted August 12, 2007 #2 Share Posted August 12, 2007 Athens is a docking port, so as soon as Greek authorities clear the ship, you can walk off. As long as you're not in a tender port, there's nothing stopping you from getting off the ship as soon as it's cleared. You don't have to talk to anyone. Rare Keith1010 Posted August 12, 2007 #4 Share Posted August 12, 2007 The only thing I want to add is that sometimes ships are delayed in terms of being cleared by the local authorities. So, be sure that your tour company knows to be waiting for you even if you do not arrive at the appointed time. Keith
cruzeluver Posted August 12, 2007 #5 Share Posted August 12, 2007 The only thing I wanted to add was, please do not give anyone a hard time if there is a delay in clearing the ship. It won't get you off any faster. I have seen people pitching a huuuuuuuuuge fit because they had to wait a whopping 30 minutes to disembark! Delays can happen, so definetly go with the flow. EGG Posted August 12, 2007 #6 Share Posted August 12, 2007 I agree that you should have no problem getting off the ship in Athens. With all the things you need to plan for a Med trip, this is not one you need to concern yourself with.
ldog Posted August 12, 2007 #7 Share Posted August 12, 2007 Don't worry too much.. Your tour guide probably meets lots of ships. They'll understand if something like clearing the ship delays you.
