Alaske 2008- When to travel?

Our preference is for late May - early June because that's when you have the best chance of not getting rain. Having lots of snow on the mountains still is pretty cool for your photos, too (3 of our 4 Alaska cruises have been in that time period).

I also prefer May. I have been two times to Alaska in May, the weather is much better(in my case that is) than July and Sept when I have been other times to Alaska. I will also be on a B2B next May starting on the 12th and ending May 26. Just remember though weather can be a problem anytime or any month. I personally have had the best weather in May.

Our only Alaska cruise so far was June 4-11. The first half was very overcast, with some rain in Juneau. The sun came out on day 5, as we drove to the Yukon from Skagway, and remained sunny for the remainder of the cruise.
