Best time for NZ/Aus. cruise?

If you have the time to break the journey to get over the effects of the day flight, then I can see the appeal of that. Though it looks like there is an SQ night flight from Frankfurt, according to the current timetable.

We're on the Auckland-Sydney cruise March 5-23/08.... what kind of weather can we expect during that time?

We do have the time to break our journey and we always made time to do so before we retired. As we are not going anywhere near Germany, Frankfurt is of no use to us. Whereas Milan is perfect as we will be in northern Italy. :)

Notentirelynormal, March, especially in the early part usually has reasonable weather - think of it as the northern hemisphere equivalent of September!

we had wonderful weather this year in mid to late March....the only "bad" weather we had was during our pre-cruise land tour in Australia...we had rain at Uluru (Ayer's Rock) and some in Cairns (although not when we snorkeled the Barrier Reef) Melbourne was downright hot, but the rest of the ports were simply pleasant...perfect for walking around. I think the Fall (in any hemisphere) is one of the best times to travel.
