amberds21 Posted August 23, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 23, 2004 We just got our room assignments - we booked inside guarantee - and we are in cabin 6451 on the Conquest. It looks strange on the Carnival deck plans - long and skinny and turned sideways behind the elevators. I am freaking out! Has anyone stayed in this (or this type) of cabin before? Carnival says it is same size as all others, but it looks so narrow - it will be like living in a hallway for a week! Also, I am worried about noise from the elevators - we aren't early to bed folks, but may not stay up quite as late as the typical Carnival bunch - also we like to sleep late, and the dinging of elevators taking everyone to breakfast might cramp my beauty rest. I would appreciate any info that you have! Thanks!
serene56 Posted August 23, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 23, 2004 No need to be freaking out. The cabin is sideway but it is the same size as the other cabins--just placed differently. The newer ships have good sound insulating the cabins. I dont think you will hear the elevators. Lets start looking at the positive of the cabin... you are only a step away from the elevator...no heavy walking for you. Take the stairs one flight down and there is the casino and shops. If your cruise is not sold out you can call and ask how much to book a different cabin. everything you wanna know about the COnquest you can find here. http://cruiseclues.com/shipstips/carnivalconquest.htm
sunrise&set Posted August 26, 2004 #3 Share Posted August 26, 2004 I was "behind" the elevator on Carnival Legend. It was an upgrade to a categ 9A (I think) and I was concerned at first about the elevator noise. No need to worry, I never heard a thing! And it was great being so close to the elevator! Not sure about the room size, but this particular category was a larger room.
