Can I catch 9:50 am flight while the arrival time is 7am?

We walked off the LOS on 8/11 at 6:45am. We were the first color called (white), flew through customs and arrived at Miami airport at 8am, plenty of time for our 11:20 flight. I guess the stars were aligned for us that day b/c it was a piece of cake w/time to spare. JMO

 

It is indeed possible that everything will go smoothly. It's just that you can't plan on it.

I (with my family) just came back from RCL (Freedom of the sea) on SUN (9/19). Our flight was on 9:10AM (from MIami to DC). We left the ship at 6:30AM and get to Airport 7:30AM, and had breakfast at the airport, planty of time. The ship usually dock earlier than the schedule (7:00am) on itinearary. I was told that the ship usually be docked at 5:00am.

 

What you have to do: you need to fill the earlier departure form when you are first time on board at the customer service desk (deck 5). They will assist you with all the instruction.

I haven't flown into Miami since 03, but it was AWFUL!! Lucky for me, I didn't have any luggage to check. I had already printed my boarding pass and could go straight to the gate.

 

But the line to check luggage and to get your boarding pass was over 3 hours long with Northwest. There was people who had been standing line for over 2 hours whose plane was leaving. It was getting ugly and security was starting to make themselves known to the crowd.

Boy, you must have had special circumstances to get off the ship at 6:30. In all my 50 cruises, I've NEVER seen any ship start disembarking that early. The earliest I've ever seen was 7:45. You were very lucky because most Customs agents don't get to the dock until 7.

one more thought be at your gate1/2 hour before fl. time or they might give you seats away. they always over book:( :(

Kitty 9 - I don't know your age, but you'd made sound like you have been on cruises with your life (50 cruises). I don't know how many people in the world have cruised for that many times in life, but one thing for sure, you are the special, and must be rich too. With my less experience (6 times cruises, starting 8 years ago), I called RCL before I booked the earlier flight (9:10AM). I had been told by the RCL that the earlier departure could be arranged. When I first got on the ship, I went to the customer desk and I was told to fill out the form for earlier depaturebe and to be waitting on the deck 4 by 6:15Am on the day of returing to Miami, however, I have to carry all my luggages with me (can't use the luggage tags. What happend was, I was staying in casino all night before it was closed at 4:00AM. I aksed why it was closed that earlier since it was the last night of fun on the ship. The people told me the ship would be docked in an hour and by the law, they have to shut off the casino one hour prior the ship was docked in Miami. Anyway, when I was leaving the ship by 6:30 Am, I asked the officers when they actually release the passengers, I've been told they started as earlier as 6:00AM.

I'm in my early 50's and go on between 3 and 5 cruises per year, so that's how I managed to get to the grand total of 50. As a matter of fact, I have 6 cruises booked between this year and all of next. But I must say, speculating on one's wealth and their ability to cruise does seem a little rude. People have cruised a lot of times who might not have high incomes, but they manage to cruise regardless of that. So income and wealth have little to do with anything.

 

As a matter of course, your ability to leave the ship early is a very special case. I daresay cruise lines would not like to accommodate large numbers of passengers who request doing that. Plus, you were lucky not to have Custom's and Immigration issues.

I also don't know anyone was able to disembark the ship so

early! Most ships don't even arrive back to the dock till after 7:00am

(if they are lucky!). And then there are those folks who don't abide

by all the immigration stuff so it holds up the entire ship!

I am sure we have both come across those~

 

As for how many cruises, I know we have probably both met

those couples who have been on 100 before too!;):D

And Darcie, I still hope one day our paths will cross!!!

I am not interesting your age, nor speculating your wealth. I state a fact and try to help out the people.

 

Departure earlier from ship is nothing special. To verify this, please call RCL to find out. The difference is that you have to carry on your luggage. Most of the ships are docked earlier than on the schedule (that is what I had been told on the customer service desk). It is the matter that people don't realize it when they wake up in the morning. I met someone at the airport (with 11:00AM flight) who left the ship earlier than us. He told me that he left earlier to avoid the crowd and rather to spent the extra time at the airport.
