hotel near Newark and Cape Liberty??

Hello..

 

I know I should post this in the East Coast section...but I can't log in to post there for some reason..so hopefully, someone will help me out..

 

We are flying in to Newark on Thursday, Sept 27..cruise departs the 28th out of Cape Liberty...

 

Trying to figure out a place to stay..

 

Need:

 

Transportation from airport

Transportation to Pier

Location near restaurant/something to do/as we have no car

Transportation back to airport after cruise

PS..cheap, but safe

 

Also..our flight out for home doesn't depart until 8:30 pm, so is it possoble to check our bags at the airport & then head into NYC for a bit? Options?

You don't want to stay in or near the Newark/Elizabeth area. Horrible area (google three college students murdered execution style).

 

Opt instead for Jersey City or Weehauken.
