Did you find CruiseCritic before or after your first cruise?

Our first cruise was on Rennassaince. Their web site contained a bulletin board. It made a huge difference in our cruise. We met up with approximately 20-25 people before we even boarded. Spent most of our cruise with our new friends. Sadly, about a month before our cruise, they closed the boards down. I always thought it was because everybody was trading money saving ideas, ie booking your own excursions etc.

I found it a month before my second cruise, and got some great advice on early boarding, how to pack necklaces, and taking post-its.

 

I too really enjoy being able to answer questions for others, especially first-timers. :)
