bxny Posted August 30, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 30, 2007 I read that there is a colony of penguins that you can see from the shore in St. Kilda. Can any Aussies from Melbourne confirm that?

jane02 Posted August 31, 2007 #3 Share Posted August 31, 2007 I read that there is a colony of penguins that you can see from the shore in St. Kilda. Can any Aussies from Melbourne confirm that? I lived on Beaconsfield Parade for many years and have spent a lot of time at St Kilda beach. I do believe you can see the penguins if you go out by boat but typically, I didn't do the 'tourist type' things in my area when I lived there. I can however confirm that you can see the most enormous water rats by the pier especially on warm nights:eek: . My dogs used to chase them! Not quite as cute as the penguins though!! Aussie Gal Posted September 1, 2007 #5 Share Posted September 1, 2007 I am pretty sure if you walk along St. Kilda Pier you will see the penguins. Globilisers link is the correct one. It is a hidden secret down here that we have penguins so close to the city. Jennie
