RobertQM2 Posted August 30, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 30, 2007 We are first time travellers to Cozumel in spring 08 with NCL Spirit. What we want to do is a daytrip to Chichen Itza, the famous ruins right in the middle of Yucatan. Does anybody know if this is posible and when- which tours are offered. Thank you for the help in advance.
bruce-r Posted August 31, 2007 #2 Share Posted August 31, 2007 It would take you many hours of travel to get there and back making a trip there impractical for a cruise passenger unless you could arrange to fly there.
Nebr.cruiser Posted August 31, 2007 #3 Share Posted August 31, 2007 It is a long trip. It depends on how long you are in port; our son and wife did this from Cozumel two years ago. They left about 8 AM and got back around 8 PM. We were in port until about midnight, so this worked for them, though it was a very long day. They did enjoy the ruins a lot, but had only about two hours there; the rest of the time was spent in traveling. I have heard that there are tours that take you to Chican Itza by helicopter, but I don't know anything about them.
