Vancouver Trolley Car

Looking at the web cite concerning the trolley car it looks like most of the stops are at hotels around Vancouver. I am not sure if you get a good feel for Vancouver doing that!! Anyone done this trolley car tour? Do you think it is worthwhile?

Not sure what you mean by it stopping mostly at hotels. The hotel stops are only convenient points for passengers to get on and off. All the other stops are at popular attractions that most visitors like to go:
eg.

Science World
Chinatown (Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Garden)
Stanley Park - various stops including the Aquarium
Vanier Park
English Bay
Granville Island
Yaletown
. . . etc.

You get on and off at the attractions you want, stay as long as you like, go to all or just a select few.

We've done the trolley in Vancouver and it was wonderful IMHO.. easy to get off and on, didn't have to figure out a bus schedule, cabs etc. and could see the city. Spent a lot of time in Stanley Park, then gardens. Would highly recommend if you want to see the city at your own pass for a day or so.

Thanks for the endorsement for the trolley system. We have actually used similar systems in a number of cities accross America, Euorope as well as Australia! I was sort of playing the role of devels advocate!! I have spent quite abit of time in Vancouver but my DW has only been there once. Vancouver is a great city and we look foreward to our visit there prior to our cruise!

A couple cost saving suggestions. If you go to their website you will find a $1.00 printable coupon. Website is www.vancouvertrolley.com

Another option is to buy the Entertainment Book Vancouver 2004. They are offering these books for $9.99 and in the book is a "buy 1 - get 1 free" for the Trolley. (note I believe these books are not good in July/August) Verify on the website.
