Dining without a jacket suggestions

We will be on the ship in mid-October for our 40th anniversary and would like to dine out somewhere nice and special, but DH doesn't want to have to pack a sport coat/jacket since he won't be needing it on the ship. Any suggestions? We have eaten at the Waterlot but thought about trying Fourways Inn if he can get in without a jacket. We read recently that the Newport Room in the Southhampton Princess is the best. When we stayed there for another anniversary, it was soon after a hurricane, so the windows had blown out and that restaurant was closed. I see that jackets are required there, so we probably wouldn't try it unless it is really worth the extra packing.

There is a really nice small restaurant that opened about a year or so ago in the main square in St. Georges - called The George & Dragon. It's upstairs of what used to be Freddie's Bar. The restaurant is small, open beams, lots of cedar. It does also have an outside patio on which they serve in good weather. We really enjoy it and go every few months. Smart casual dress.

Our favourite by far is the Waterlot Inn though. Another excellent restaurant is Blue which is in Paget.

In Hamilton, the Barracuda Grill on Burnaby Hill is very nice. Attractive restaurant and very good food.

An out of the way restaurant locals frequent but tourist usually miss is the Red Carpet which is in the old Armory Building on Reid Street. Simple classic menu well prepared.

Hope this might help you.

It's BLU and it's at Belmont Hills in Warwick. It has fantastic views of the Sound. Dress is smart casual. We go there on our wedding anniversaries.

Where is the ship docked?

Are you planning on going to Hamilton? There are several good restaurants in Hamilton so it's hard to say which special one to go to celebrate your 40th. Most of them are smart casual (smart means collared shirts for men, no shorts). Good spots for anniversary dinner are Port O Call, Bolero, Harourfront (which also serve excellent sushi), Barracuda Grill, to name a few.

But BLU is an absolute delight! Fourways needs men to wear jackets.

We ate at Fourways not long ago and noticed men without jackets. Out of curiosity, I just called them and jackets are not required although they ask men to wear dress pants and dress shirts.

Don't know where Paget changes to Warwick so apologise for my error and for my spelling.
