eacruise Posted August 27, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 27, 2004 We are on the Enchantment of the Seas and dock at the Port Everglades. Our flight leaves at 5 pm. So when we get off the boat at lets say around 9:30 or 10 we don't have anything to do till until around 3:30 when we need to be at the airport. We will have all our luggage and nowhere to go. Has anyone else ever had this problem. And what did you do? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!
Krazy Kruizers Posted August 28, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 28, 2004 Your cruise ship should offer a couple of tours that can be booked once you are on the ship. And your luggage goes on the bus with you and will drop you off at the airport in plenty of time to catch your flight. One of the tours usually offered is an airboat ride through the Everglades. MNYTRPS2GO2 Posted August 29, 2004 #3 Share Posted August 29, 2004 You may want to consider renting a car for the day and checking out the area. There are beaches and plenty of shopping to occupy your day and you will have a place to store your luggage.
Ellya Posted September 6, 2004 #4 Share Posted September 6, 2004 Some people even rent a hotel room for the day to store their luggage, use the pool etc. I took the Everglades tour and found it to be very overpriced and not very fun. Apparently alligators are nocturnal so we only saw the top of one alligator's head (blocked by all the people allowed to stand in the boat). The tour operators begged shamelessly for tips at every turn. The Native American village was nothing more than a video in a shed. I would use the rather large amount of money they charge to either rent a car or hotel room if I were to do it again.
ell52 Posted September 6, 2004 #5 Share Posted September 6, 2004 Our flight leaves around 6pm, so we plan to rent a car, have lunch, go to the beach or get an all-day pass for the water-taxis and explore. We figure that a car will provide us a place to lock up our luggage as well as the freedom to come and go as we please. Ell
