Dunedin off the itinerary

This was also mentioned on the P&O Australia board.

The only thing I could find is that some cruises were

advertised as a fly cruise Sydney/ChCH and ChCh/Sydney,

but I cant see them any more on the P&O web page.

If they are doing this, they may need an extra day in Chch

to transfer everyone and to fit in with flight schedules.

Do keep us posted as to what is going on,

as this is the first time they have split the

Au/Nz cruise into 2 shorter segments.

That seems a likely explanation, Kiwicruiser. I have emailed P&O to clarify the changes. The travel agent may also know something. Seems a bit rude that we had to find out upon logging onto our cruise personalisers.

Yes, I will definitely let you know if others haven't found out before me.

Thanks for answering.

Princess often changes ports on cruises - I always thought it was to keep people who had previously cruised the region interested by offering different venues to see, while keeping some of the old ones. In the British Isle cruise, they alternate the Orkneys with another port every season.

It could also be that it's cost prohibitive to dock there or it may be the port with the consistently lowest score on the comment cards. Personally, it was one of our favorite stops when we did the Princess NZ/AUS cruise.

Like I said, just my thoughts

i could not see dunedin getting any bad reports.

there is just so much to see and do there. I feel sad for the cruisers who may miss this port

Dunedin is a great port.It would be sad to miss it,although I think 1 ship missed it last season.I think it was Sapphire because of strong winds which hampered her manouvering in the long channel that leads up to the port.

Kinkacruiser,

Does your itinerary have 2 nights in Christchurch to replace Dunedin.?

Dunedin is back in the itinerary folks. This was an input error on some of the cruise personalisers and hopefully it will be fixed soon. We can all breathe easier now knowing we won't miss any of our greatly anticipated Dunedin sights and experiences.

Cheers,
