Sun Princess - what will be different?

This may have been asked before but I'll ask again. Now that Sun Princess is coming under the P & O banner, what features will be different, apart from Traditional dining and no complimentary room service. Geoff (Arxcards), you are always a wonderful fountain of knowledge on these matters.............

Hi Pepper

Yeah, sorry about that. :) Sun Princess will only sail for P&O From Nov till April 08, then sail for Princess Australia. There are differences for each period.

Changes are pretty minor - The ship will stay the same in layout. Some freebies on Princess will have charges under P&O, but are not compulsory items - mostly snacks and room service. AWS will be cheaper than on PrincUSs.

Anytime dining is not available for the P&O run, but is meant to return after April with PrincOZz.

Will find some links from earlier posts and add here for easy finding & reading.

Cheers

AWS = Auto Wage Subsidy = autotips

Just a bit of light reading for you Pepper

I have received a reply from Princess through my TA that Captains Circle perks will be honored on our Nov. 7 cruise (S735). But I still won't put any money on it! I'll believe it when I see it.

FYI, I'm mostly interested in free laundry since that will affect how I'll pack.

There is still some question, too, about whether or not the Horizon Court will be open during dinner time. There are nights, especially after a long shore tour, that we just don't feel like the formality of dinner in the dining room.

Yes Linda, The info about Captain Circle Perks was also added to their website approx a week ago too, so it is in writing as well.

Have a look at the info I left here - http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=11560464&postcount=10

Might also pay to print it out incase they change their mind.

I also agree with Horizon Court. For us, the flexible option is good. We are resigned to paying extra for UBD and Steakhouse on the busy days so we can pick our dining time. We are really keen to try the UBD. Have you tried this on any of your cruises?

Do you still get pre-cruise jitters, or has that started to rub off now?

Cheers

Geoff

Great! We really don't need special lines, special waiting rooms, things like that, but the laundry is really appreciated.

I'm a little jittery about this next one because we are SO looking forward to it. This is our third trip to Australia. We've always wanted to see more than Tasmania and the East Coast and this was just perfect. We're flying to Los Angeles and spending a night there to break up the long trip. Then on to Sydney where we'll spend three nights before boarding the ship. Whoa! That means only 45 or so days left before we leave!

We've never tried the UBD. We've had the breakfast a couple of times, once on the Sun!

It tells me the website you gave us has expired!

Ooops,

Have also noticed that Deb has posted info of the dead link on the CC post on Princess board.

The page was active when the Captains Circle was announced for Australian passengers. The bottom of the page stated that Captains Circle perks would be honoured on all Sun & Dawn Princess cruises. The word all was definately used.

I guesss there are times when it is better to paste the info than past a link!

Cheers

Geoff
