Which beach is closer to where the ship docks, boatyard or sandy lance beach?

Just trying to find out which beach is closer to where the ship docks?

Boatyard or Sandy Beach..??

Also, does anyone know what the taxi cost to get to those beaches

and are those beaches free to enter?

Boatyard is closest.

If you use their facilities, they charge you a small day-rate for the showers, bar restaurant, whatever

- lots of people do that, but the beach they're on is 2-mile-long Carlisle Bay,

which you can access for free another 50 yds further on from Boatyard, right next to LOBSTER ALIVE!

...who also offer food and drink.

Sandy Beach is on the South Coast, and has changed its name nowadays to Sandy Bay, I think..

..that's on Worthing Beach(South Coast)

. . . . . .

Just in case you're thinking of Sandy LANE,

that's on a whole nuther coast, the West Coast!

and that's gonna be pricey...if they let you in.

is it just one flat fee to get into Boatyard

for food, drinks and umbrellas, and lounge chairs?

Are there any good restuarants at Boatyard ?

I've taken the liberty of directly Cutting & Paste-ing

this response of (username)668kris (Thank you, Madam!)

because it is so entirely relevant to your further question, above!

$15 entry fee which includes a free drink, beach chair, plus unlimited use of their water games.

2 big water trampolines, inflatable rock climbing,

big rope that you can swing to the water in, volleyball + lots more.

The bar area was cool and the waiters were also there to serve you.

The beach and sand was the prettiest I had seen.

Best part is that we were able to see the ship from the beach - a whole 5 min. drive

It was fun, we got to see a lot of the island and tested out several diff. beaches,

but Boatyard was great. I'd go back in a second.

How far is Mt. Gay Rum Factory from pier?

If you take a taxi, what is the fee per person?

Is there an opening date for Harrison Cave and how far is it from pier?

Not sure of an opening date for H.Cave,

but I imagine they're hustling to get it ready and open for the tourist season

which pretty much begins Dec.1, but my word is not gospel.

How far is H.Cave? it's smack in the middle of the island,

about 8-10? miles from the port,

so you'll get a decent drive halfway across the island,

and you might as well drop thru at Earthworks Pottery

on the way there (or back), since it's pretty much en route.

The Mount Gay Factory/Distillery is waaay up the Northern end of the island

but they do have a Visitor Center near to the Port,

where you may sample their rum:

- I'm not sure which locale you refer to,

but just bear in mind that one's real close,

the other's a considerable distance(on the Bajan scale of distance, that is!)

I think Taxis tend to charge for the whole car, but I could be wrong

(I don't take taxis at all, therefore I'm not good at answering taxi-fares questions,

sorry 'bout dat!)

Boatyard's beach is Carlisle Bay is Lobster Alive's beach, too.

While there today, THRILLER passed by and I got this shot,

which also shows Boatyard's water-trampoline

and their floating rock-wall thing.

The other pic shows Boatyard's big jetty!
