Pacific Northwest 4 night cruise..MUST FIND INFO!

If we take a four day Celebrity Mercury cruise, October 29th, from Seattle to Canada and back will we:

1) Have good cell-phone coverage?

2) Have good Internet coverage?

3) Will the casino be open at any time during the cruise? THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO HUBBY. We know about being in "International Waters".

4)Will there still be at least one formal night? Will people actually dress up?

And most of all, is a four-night cruise treated with the same respect and professional service by the staff as a longer cruise on Celebrity?

Thank you for your opinions.

Cheryl

Luxuriate, speaking as someone who is currently on a 3 day PNW cruise, I can comment on a few things.

First, the service is every bit the traditional Celebrity I was expecting.

Also on the 3 nite we don't have a formal night but last night was "informal" and about 80% were dressed accordingly...

The only disappointing thing is the casino is limited in the hours they can be open being in Cdn waters. However with the 4 night you do have the sea day which will give you a full casino day...

Food is great and the ship is in very good condition. You will enjoy...

Hi,

I'm on the same cruise.

On the Celeb website it says we have one formal night, my ta and I both think it will be the evening of the sea day?? Nov 1.

I'm dressing up and I'm making my hubby wear a tux - I think ;-O)

I was somewhat concerned about the casino being open as I know hubby really counts on the casino in the evenings.

Nice to know that the service will be the same. I pretty much expected it to be.

As far as formal night? I'm planning on it and will be bringing a gown and hubby will be bringing his tux.

Thanks again,

Cheryl

I think there will be a formal night and I think it will be on November 1st too. I figured they wouldn't do it on Halloween ;).

I didn't mention in this particular thread that we will be bringing our three year-old son with us. I plan to have him wear his costume that he picked out on October 31st. He's a kid and I suspect that others might get a kick out of it.

We are on a four day too and have done short cruises on other lines and all of them were just like the longer cruises - except less as in less time, less activities, less shows, less photos etc.

If you have been on a longer cruise - it is just like cutting the first and last days (or more) off. Does that makes sense?

On four days (if there is only one sea day) that would be the formal or informal on some lines. I have always found less people dress up on the shorter ones but then again on Celebrity earlier this year on a 7 day cruise only about 50-60% dressed formal and that dropped a lot by the second one. But if you want to (or don't want to) then do so! It is your vacation and you should do what you want to make it exactly what you want it to be!

It is also my guess there will be some kind of Halloween party - for the adults. The kids clubs will probably have something for the kids too. We were on NCL when my twins were 6 and our son was 4 and the kids club there had craft activities and then a big party for them after dinner with goodie bags, a pinata and tons of fun! Hopefully they will have the same here for the kids. Only it is a port day so that may play into it.
