kitchen stores in martinique

i collect mauviel cookware. any chance anyone has seen gorgeous cookware in martinique. it comes from normandy france. just hoping for a little luck in finding a couple more pieces. thanks, lauri

I wouldn't be surprised if you can get Mauviel in Martinique.

 

Bear in mind that Martinique(and Guadeloupe) are Departments of France,

not just colonies!

 

Having visited both Martinique and Guadeloupe a few times each,

and having been into their supermarkets,

I've seen amazing European kitchen gadgetry

not available in ex-English colonies like Barbados, where I live!

The French islands are very European, just in a tropical setting.

 

I'd ask around!

Carry a brochure with photos, if possible.

Show it around and try their language a bit.

Don't be shy to look silly and sound the same

- it's fun...and you may get your Mauviel cookware.

thanks for the response. after 7 years of le passe compose i can speak french a little. i can read alot better. but i think i can do enough to get by. the dialects and patois slow me down. and i am from the southern united states so i have an accent too. but i appreciate your response. i will be ready, with euro in hand, to find some of these pieces. thanks, lauri ps if you do hear of specific shops, please do let me know. again, thanks.
