Day Passes in Kona?

Recommended Posts

Sorry, but hotels and resorts in Hawaii do not typically offer day passes. I don't know of any in or near Kona or on the Kohala coast (up north of Kona, would require a rental car) that do. I'm afraid you're going to need to plan other activities. Remember that all the beaches in Hawaii are public, so that is not an issue. The hotels and resorts must allow public access to the beach (although they don't have to make it easy, and sometimes they don't), but they don't have to allow public access to any of their beach amenities or the hotel/resort facilities. Some do rent things like chairs, lounges, or umbrellas to non-guests, while others have a "guests only" policy.
