Future Booking Incentives

I have not experienced what you ask on my last Celebrity cruise. The prices quoted me on board were not impressive. I'm going again on the Horizon on 9/5 and will check. On my last Princess cruise in June I gave the future cruise consultant a deposit of $100 per person. I had 4 years to use it. I used it in a month. This $100 per person served as my deposit on my 3/05 cruise on the Royal Princess to South America/Carribean. It is a 16 day cruise that would have cost me $1500 in deposits if I had not made it on board. It also got me a $150 per person credit to spend on board. Celebrity does not do this.

Celebrity gives you a $200 on board credit on your future cruise if you book on board the ship. This credit it transferrable if you change you plans. You can also transfer the booking to your travel agent when you get home (you still get the credit) as well as any additional discounts your TA can get for you.

I've booked several cruises while on board and never seen any restriction on how to use that credit. I have seen references to some promotional credits that they can't be used for tips or in the casino, but not so for the on-board booking credit.

When we were on the Century last year, we booked onboard for a sailing on the Millenium for this Dec. We paid our $500 deposit and got a $100 shipboard credit. We changed the booking to the Constellation and also transferred it to a TA so we could get a better price than what Celebrity was offering, and we had our on board credit transferred. If you plan to go on another Celebrity cruise, and can afford to put down the deposit, it's a win situation. We had no trouble transferring the credit or our deposit to the Constellation. The paper we got onboard told us that we could transfer etc except not able to transfer the credit to a group cruise. I will do the same thing again when we are on the Constellation in Dec.

If they are still giving an onboard credit, does not that go against the new r&r of nothing of cash value to be given by TA's? are they not giving themselves an unfair advantage when they are trying to level the playing field? (please don't flame me, I just think it is hypocritical) deb
