Alcohol Question

We are thinking about a cruise on Regent. I drink Grey Goose martinis and my husband drinks Tanqueray martinis. Are those brands part of the all inclusive? Does this apply to drinks in the bars and lounges too?

And if you ask your cabin steward you can probably get a bottle each in your cabin.

We put in our request on the Regent site and when we arrived in our cabin...voila! Grey Goose for me and Crown Royal for him with the requested mixes.

Gee, the four of us would no doubt get along just fine. We don't have any cruises planned for 2008, maybe in 2009.

We did that last year and it was great. Nice to be retired and able to be gone that long. I would hate the long distance flights for a seven-day cruise.

We're Grey Goose fans as well. I didn't see that as an option on the butler form. Does it cost extra if you ask for it in your suite? We chose Absolut which is on the form so I thought that Grey Goose may carry a surcharge.

I'm having a hard time understand the in room bar set up. I'd much rather have someone else mix my drinks :) Do people not relax in the lounges on Regent? Help me understand. Thanks!

I have never had a problem getting GG on Regent.

We enjoy a drink or so in our suite while dressing for dinner. Grey Goose is readily available for an in-suite bottle order, no additional cost, as of Dec. 2006. I don't believe that has changed. We also enjoy an occasional nightcap in our suite after the show.

This really is a before and after story.

Before: Regent would give you a in cabin bar set up. Drinks and wine were free at dinner. You were charged any other time.

After: All inclusive all the time. Usually need to ask for in cabin bar set up.

 

Before: People would have pre dinner parties in their cabins then go for maybe one drink in the bars before dinner.

After: Since it is all inclusive the bars are now well attended before dinner.

 

I agree. We like to have a cocktail in our cabin while relaxing and getting ready for dinner.

I'm guessing that the suite bar set up and pre-dinner cocktails in the lounges will be very similar to what it was like on Silver Shadow. The lounges are great places to visit with people before going to dinner!

 

Can't wait until our Dec cruise :D
