Singbz Posted October 4, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 4, 2007 Hello ! I am hoping someone can recommend a beach in George Town where there's either umbrellas or an area with shade still near the beach. Love the beach, but get sun poisoning very easily ! Many thanks ! workn2cruise Posted October 5, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 5, 2007 We went to Royal Palms in May and are going back again next month (love saying that!) I think its a $4 ride, you'll see lots of people offering rides. We rented a couple chairs and an umbrella for us to share. It wasn't too crowded and they have a great restaurant/bar. TexasMommy Posted October 14, 2007 #3 Share Posted October 14, 2007 We also loved the Royal Palms. Were there this week. I guess with an umbrella you would be ok? Almost all the beaches rent chairs and umbrellas.

katscruise Posted October 14, 2007 #5 Share Posted October 14, 2007 Does the beach at Royal Palms get alot of people. I do not like beaches where you feel you a sitting on top of the person next to you. Is the water shallow or rocky?
jean-lynd Posted October 23, 2007 #6 Share Posted October 23, 2007 If you go to http://www.reefgrill.com and go to the netcams you can see the beach at Royal Palms. The Reef Grill is part of the Royal Palms property. I hope this helps!
gottago2mexico Posted October 25, 2007 #7 Share Posted October 25, 2007 The beach is much wider and nicer down toward the Westin. Even in high season, there's never a problem getting a spot on the beach. It's huge! We were just down at the Westin the other day and there were only a few people on the beach - we practically had it all to ourselves. Royal Palms gets pretty crowded because it's close to town, and it's narrow compared to other areas of the beach.
katscruise Posted October 27, 2007 #8 Share Posted October 27, 2007 Do they rent Chairs at the Westin? Do you have to pay to use their beach or is it a public beach. Is there a place to eat and get something to drink. Do we just ask the cab driver to take us to the Westin.
Maria1967 Posted May 16, 2015 #9 Share Posted May 16, 2015 Hello, I believe from reading your posts on this website that you knew my uncle who recently died. He was a singles rep on cruise ships. All I am looking for are memories and photos and would be grateful to to if you could email grainneb4@gmail.com
