standby 06.30 Posted October 10, 2007 #26 Share Posted October 10, 2007 There used to be an old joke in the London are about tap water: "This water's Official; it's been passed by the Lord Chancellor...."The version I heard was that it had the Queens Warrant so it was the Royal Wee "We are not amused" regards
Rare Keith1010 Posted October 10, 2007 #27 Share Posted October 10, 2007 As is the case with most things there is not always a write or wrong answer. For my wife and me, when we travel we just go with bottled water. I'm sure some places are fine for the tap water whether they be in the USA, Europe or whatever, but for us we'd rather play it safe than be sorry. So, we will always get bottled water when we travel. I started this practice when I used to travel often for business outside the United States and it served me well so we have continued this wherever we go. tom_uk Posted October 10, 2007 #28 Share Posted October 10, 2007 The point about bottled water in restaurants is simple: they charge for that (with a huge %age markup), but can't for tap water. I've generally drunk tap water everywhere, certainly in western europe. In Rome we were delighted by the water issuing from the public fountains.
