Does any one know of any grocery stores close to the airport or port?

Perhaps something along the way that we can get the cab to stop at?:confused:

There is a Publix in a shopping center behind the Embassy Suites on 17th street.

Where would that be located in reference to the airport and cruise ship port? I have never been to Fort Lauderdale.

 

Can I just ask the cab driver to take me to publix on 17th street behind Embassy Suites? Think he/she would know where that is?

From the Publix website, I think this is the store but you may want to call and check.

It is right behind 17th Street.

they should...it's less than a mile to the pier.....they would turn right by the Embassy Suites (assuming you are coming fromthe airport area) then back onto 17th street, turn right and down about a mile or less to the port entrance...turn right at the walgreens....

I called and they are the closes. He said just tell the cab driver Harbor shops and they will know exactly where to go.

Glad I could help. The Publix and the entire shopping center are pretty new. Last time we sailed from Fort Lauderdale (2006) we walked over from the Embassy Suites and bought a few things.

We are coming from the airport. Sherri above posted the store she thought it was, so I called and it was. So now I know how to get the cabbie there. :-)

 

You are right that second map, WOW it hurt my eyes to even look at it. LOL
