kwbrad Posted October 8, 2007 #4 Share Posted October 8, 2007 Thanks, we are on a 4 dayer in May. Any don't miss activities on the ship? This is my moms 2nd cruise, both with carnival, and my 2nd, with my 1st being on Royal Caribbean.
munchkin4 Posted October 8, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted October 8, 2007 I loved the shows. The comedians were very funny. I only wish we could have stayed up late enough to see the adult only comedians. DH works shift and kind of hard to readjust. I also loved the dining room each evening. The galley tour was not great. For the most part we were there to relax and did just that. We listened to some of the music stuff by the pool but mostly looked for quiet places. Except DH. He spent alot of time in the Casino. I took several trips to the spa. The massages are great! But the most important thing is that we each had fun. Lots of stuff to do but don't press yourself. JUST HAVE FUN!! Planning on doing whatever sounds good at the time. Definantly going to hit the casino (mom has great luck there) and bingo (I have great luck there). Looking forward to the shows as well. Can you tell me about the tvs? (weird question I know). I am wondering if the Ecstasy has the tvs where you can pull up your onboard account and check the balance. Also, is there a channel that is a view off the front of the ship? I know a few ships have that, not sure if Ecstasy is one of them. Looking forward to seeing your pics and reading your review. Thanks for your help!
emaksb Posted October 8, 2007 #7 Share Posted October 8, 2007 Did you hear anything about them updating the pool & slide area? A friend read that somewhere and was just woundering when they would have it done we are cruising her Oct. 13, 2008.
MindyLee Posted October 8, 2007 #8 Share Posted October 8, 2007 Dh & I are sailing on the Ecstasy on 10/25! Only 17 more days! WhooHoo! It'll be our first cruise and I've been looking for someone to post a review of this ship. I haven't found many. Was it super crowded? Never having been on one I can't really compare, but I always have the impression that cruises are very crowded. Maybe not in late October? Is there an extra charge for massages, are they included in the price of the cruise? Looking forward to reading yours when it's posted, and looking at your pics! munchkin4 Posted October 8, 2007 Author #11 Share Posted October 8, 2007 kwbrad--I was just sure that you could pull up your account on the TV. But I could never find how to do it. I looked and looked. Of course I could have called the info desk but that would have been too easy. However, we requested a copy of our bill halfway through and received it very quickly. emaksb--The pool area was very nice. It has a slide. Not sure how recent it was redone though but looks in excellent condition. Mindy Lee--The ship never seemed crowded. I think they they said there were something like 2000 people on board and 900+ crew but never seemed that crowded. Very seldom waited in line etc. Of course when you were in Panarama Grill it was full but no more so than a restaurant would be. The massages are extra. I have a pricelist for the spa but didn't bring it to work today so will try to remember tomorrow. I know that we got a couples massage for $198 because it was in port. Actually our appointment was for 3 pm which was exact time we sailed but they let us have in port. I had my hair done and it was $49 (Long hair in updo) They have a spa taster special that was 25 min. massage and 25 min facial for $100. These prices are quite a bit higher than what you can get on the mainland, but that is how i pamper myself. While DH is in the Casino, I'm in the spa. firefly333 Posted October 8, 2007 #13 Share Posted October 8, 2007 I dont think you can pull up your account on the Ecstasy. I was on her last Halloween and the ship has not been in dry dock since, so Id guess its still the same.

I just went to the purser's desk and asked for a copy of my account and they smiled and printed it off.
MindyLee Posted October 8, 2007 #15 Share Posted October 8, 2007 I have a pricelist for the spa but didn't bring it to work today so will try to remember tomorrow. That would be great! It seems that I heard somewhere that the Ecstacy got a remodel/refurbishing recently, and the decor of the rooms (they don't show the bathrooms) does look nice. Did it look like it had been spruced up? I read your review. Thanks for all the detail! Great job!

We sailed on the Ecstasy in July 2006. It was completely full. I know this because we had a friend on the waiting list if anyone canceled. She called up till the day before we sailed with no luck. When we borded the ship there was a sign on the Purser's desk that said they could not do upgrades because the ship was full. I said that to say this. It never felt crowded not even on the aft decks. We ate all our meals in the dining room (personal preference) so I cannot comment on the buffet lines. We loved the Ecstacy. We have booked another on her for next year. Oh how time crawls while waiting to cruise.
