Freedom - ship time vs. local time?

Anyone sailed recently on Freedom of the Seas and know whether or not the ship stays on eastern time the entire cruise or if the captain adjusts the time daily to match ship time with local time. Can't seem to get a straight answer from Royal Caribbean and it makes a difference in the timing for our shore excursions (not booked through Royal Caribbean). Thanks!

It's all up to the Captain. If the time does change, you will be notified. All of the clocks on the ship automatically switch to whatever time is being used. Always make sure your watch is set to "ship's time" before you go ashore!

If you're asking because of a private excursion, the tour operator will adjust their schedule to whatever time you ship arrives--this is their livelihood--they don't want you to miss their excursion!

My main concern is the Royal Dolphin Swim in Chankanaab, Cozumel. I booked it two months out, and the later times were already filled so I went with an 11:00 swim when we arrive at 10:00 in Cozumel. If we're late, they've already got my credit card and will charge me $450 for the 3 of us. When I booked it I assumed (stupidly), Freedom would stay on eastern time thereby giving us 2 hours to make it to the dolphin swim. If Freedom moves to local time, I'm afraid one hour is cutting it too short. I'm trying to get CometoCozumel.com to push my dolphin time later, but I haven't heard back from them yet. If anyone has a definitive answer as to whether Freedom stays on ship time or moves to local time I'd appreciate it! Thanks!

I can tell you that Freedom always remains on the time zone of departure, irrespective of the local time. Local contractors base their activities on EST with respect to guest activities or simply compensate by getting you back by the stated departure time.
