Just received docs on our land/cruise tour on Vision of the Seas. We will be staying in the following hotels/lodges and wondered if anyone has had any experience with any of them. Type of rooms, restaurants in lodges or nearby, etc.

Anchorage Marriott
Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge
Grande Denali Lodge
Pikes Waterfront Lodge -Fairbanks

Thanks for any info you may have on these properties.

All very nice large properties. The most dining options are at the Anchorage, walkable to other food options. You have nothing in the area of the Talkeetna Alaska lodge and will need their shuttle. Try the Roadhouse for breakfast, if not get there for lunch. Only soups for dinner most of the time if they open. I eat a lot at the Latitude- excellent seafood and reasonable prices. But a walk from downtown. You are in glitter gulch at Denali Park, but a wonderful property. food options will require the shuttle- most resturants in hotels with a few others. Fairbanks- again you need a shuttle for most other dining areas, but good resturant in hotel. If Fairbanks is your last stop- rent a car and see the area. Budget 50% more for meals than you would at home. this will allow a cushion.
