jmaze Posted October 10, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 10, 2007 Trying to decide if it is worth subscribing too? Has anybody ever used it?
Barkingowl Posted October 10, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 10, 2007 I've been a member for a few years. I find it very helpful when trying to decide what a cabin looks like. I've also submitted pictures to the cruise stateroom part of the site & earned my lifetime membership fee back. I think its a great site.
big_duck Posted October 10, 2007 #3 Share Posted October 10, 2007 I don't. They scrape cabin photos off of free sites like webshots then charge you to see them, without paying IP royalities to the people who actually own the pictures ... like me.
Sue L Posted October 10, 2007 #4 Share Posted October 10, 2007 they have paid me for all my pictures both for ones I submitted and other that they found in webshots and contacted me. I have paid for my subscription a couple of times over from the pictures.
big_duck Posted October 10, 2007 #5 Share Posted October 10, 2007 and other that they found in webshots and contacted me. Before or after you became a member? They sure as heck never contacted me.
irishgirl Posted October 10, 2007 #6 Share Posted October 10, 2007 That site used to be free and I used it all the time. After it became subscription, I stopped using it. I can find everything I need elsewhere on the internet for free. But, it's up to you, pay for a subscription, if you like it and use it enough, keep it. You wouldn't be out much. cathyz Posted October 10, 2007 #7 Share Posted October 10, 2007 There is a free piece that still has quite a bit of information.
Wennfred Posted October 10, 2007 #8 Share Posted October 10, 2007 In the very begining they were snatching pictures from this website and others and got caught, they removed those pictures, I then subscribed and submitted a few of mine and got paid, not much. Every once in a while I go back to see if I can look for a specific cabin but as you can see they use the same pictures for the same cabin number even on other ships. emdia43 Posted October 10, 2007 #9 Share Posted October 10, 2007 The Public site has all the info you need doesn't it? I look at it frequently.
Dubsolute Posted October 11, 2007 #10 Share Posted October 11, 2007 I use the free side as well. I can find stats about the ship and deck layouts. If I need to see pics I can either come here or go to webshots.
doublebzz Posted October 11, 2007 #11 Share Posted October 11, 2007 I agree with the other posters that the public (free) site provides almost as much information as the fee site. I joined hoping to see exact square footage for each cabin on each ship of the major lines. In fact, data is available only for Carnival ships and that contains inaccuracies. caribbean dreams Posted October 11, 2007 #12 Share Posted October 11, 2007 I don't. They scrape cabin photos off of free sites like webshots then charge you to see them, also people turn in pictures they have found on the internet, claming they are a certain cabin, i have seen a few that claim to be the cabin and actually are not.
