Ha dh and i will be visiting your lovely island in 1 month

and while we are at barbados we would like to do a little shopping

and just to plop on the beach @ the boatyard.

We will be doing this ourselves so my ? is..

how far is the boatyard from the cruise port and

do you have any pic's of the boatyard and

one last thing we love to ride jetski's and

do they have plenty or is a long wait to get one?

Take a $5 cab ride into the shopping centre of Bridgetown

(unless a near-mile walk turns you on)

and at the top of Broad St.(main drag) is a town square with Nelson's statue of 1813.

Nelson's looking towards the pedestrian bridge with an arch at its far end.

Head over the bridge and under the arch and you're halfway to Boatyard,

in another 250? yds.

The rastaman who carves calabash, under the arch

will point out Boatyard's brightly coloured front wall for you

So..from Bridgetown shopping area to Boatyard...400yds.? - 500?

From the Port - 1 mile (that's why I suggest a quick taxi ride,

specially if it's a hot day!)

No pix of Boatyard,sorry,

but please see several pix of Carlisle Bay's beach on other Barbados threads,

which is the same beach as Boatyard.

(look for the lil paperclip symbols)

Sorry no pix of the actual Boatyard facility.

Jetskis come and go, bay by bay,

up and down the coast, trawling for tourists.

They pass by every so often.

Give a big wave and they come right over.

How often do they come by? - hard to say

but I should think the Watersports people at Boatyard

would have a handle on that.

Boatyard is on this long beach, but off in the far distance
