Formal nights on 7 night cruise..............

Times Prince, I will be sailing on the Dawn 12/30 - 1/6. NYE is the second day (first at sea day) and I assumed first formal night, with one more formal (probably the 4th or 5th of Jan - which are also at sea days). Are you saying because this is a New Years Eve cruise there will be a THIRD formal night? I am asking because I would need to bring along another formal dress (and believe me, shopping for another dress is not a hardship :)) but I want to be prepared. Has anyone else had 3 formals on 7 night holiday cruises?

Thanks

When we were on out New Years cruise they announced during the week that New Year's Eve was going to be formal. This was after we asked the Cruise Director about whether it would be formal, and he said "I never thought about it..." The next day it showed up in the Patter.

I can't say what your cruise will do, but the second day (day 1= embarkation and sailing) is the traditional night for the first formal night. It sounds like that would also be New Year's Eve for you, so I would not expect a 3rd night.

Can you tell me what days they are on the Crown. I am not sure if it is the Sunday and Thurs. Thank you for any info.

That's when they were last week on the Crown, but it was the Canada/New England cruise. I would think that the formal nights would be sea days if possible. No rush to get ready from a port day. Usually on our cruises on a 7 day, 1 in the beginning 1 next to last night.
