ff999 Posted October 22, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 22, 2007 Occasionally there are postings on this site that request information about specific airlines. The best site that I have found so far regarding airline critiques is SKYTRAX. Their link is below. http://www.airlinequality.com/main/forum.htm This link will take you to a page where you can just click on the airline name. Usually there are current, multiple reviews. As noted you can also see reviews of airports, airport lounges, etc. although I haven’t used these reviews very much. I’d be interested to know if anyone has found any other sites that provide similar airline reviews.
JJPNYC Posted October 22, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 22, 2007 Skytrax is great. I've also found the trolling the airline specific boards over at FlyerTalk to be invaluable. While they won't give you a review per-se, you'll get very much the feel for what's happening at a particular airline.
Desert Cruisers Posted October 23, 2007 #3 Share Posted October 23, 2007 I can second the recommendation of airlinequality.com. Good info on airlines and lounges.
fbgd Posted October 23, 2007 #4 Share Posted October 23, 2007 Sorry but I think Skytrax is a crock of s***. I've submitted reviews. Some of them weren't posted, some of them were editted and I subsequently asked them to take it down. Somehow they've managed to position themself as the spokesperson for the airline reviews. Lets put it in perspective....In 2005 British Airways had a catering strike, for several weeks no food was served on longhaul flights apart from snack boxes, even in First Class. Shorthaul flights were affected for MONTHS. It was abysmal. Yet what happened in early 2006....Skytrax award British Airways the 'Airline of the Year' You'll do much better to go to websites where those running the site have no vested interest. Flyertalk is a great place to start, but for the most part we're a picky bunch (speaking as a long time poster and trip report writer myself) and if you ask on there how flying XYZ airline is in economy you might get a few blank looks ;) The crowd is mostly skewed towards First & Business Class.
