klfhngr Posted October 22, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 22, 2007 how difficult is it on RCCL? Specifically Vision of the Seas?
BobBeaSea Posted October 22, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 22, 2007 Your best bet is probably pack it safely in your luggage and hope for the best. As to how extensive the checks are (x-rays and whatever esle they use), the time of year you cruise may have something to do with it as well. For example, the process at spring break time may be more intense then quieter times. It really is a "roll the dice kind" of thing. RCI is rather serious about this and will only get more intense as time goes by.
Gonzo70 Posted October 22, 2007 #3 Share Posted October 22, 2007 In the past it was easy, but they reportedly have been cracking down. Keep in mind that they reserve the right to boot you off the ship with no refund if caught. I personally do not believe that the drink prices are overly expensive and would not consider smuggling, but you have to make your own decision. Just be sure you are willing to live with the consequences if caught.
klfhngr Posted October 22, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted October 22, 2007 Thanks for the info... anyone else have any feedback? I've snuck it on most Carnival ships and Princess, haven't tried on RCCL... As long as they don't do cavity searches, I'll be fine... JK people!!!!!!!! Lacey1210 Posted October 22, 2007 #5 Share Posted October 22, 2007 Funny story. My boyfriends mom suggested to us that you empty our water bottles and then refill them with clear liquor like vodka or rum or clear tequila. that way if you get some juice or something you can make your own drinks more potent :) Just a thought! Gonzo70 Posted October 22, 2007 #6 Share Posted October 22, 2007 As long as they don't do cavity searches, I'll be fine. Only when you are returning to the ship from Jamaica! :D
klfhngr Posted October 22, 2007 Author #7 Share Posted October 22, 2007 We use water bottles for Vodka and Brisk Ice Tea bottles for Jack Daniels or Seagrams. On one trip, they took the water bottles/brisk bottles out, looked at them and continued on. Funny, two of the Brisks were darker than the others! matj2000 Posted October 23, 2007 #9 Share Posted October 23, 2007 Pack it in your checked luggage, you should have no problems. Just don't try to bring to much.
