Royal Caribbean perks on Azamara?

I would love to know if past Royal Caribbean pax get any "perks"?

I contacted Capt. Club to ask about our 1 Celeb. cruise (On the now deceased "Meridian" at the time the only ship Celeb. had in the '90's) and 1 on the RCCCl Splendor O T S. Was told RCCL is a totally separate entity and no credit was given for cruises on them. As to our Celeb. cruise....would count if I had "some sort of proof we'd been on the ship" as their records don't go back that far.

My first cruise was on Soveriegn of the Seas. In the course of combining the two companies, I was told if I could prove I was on SOS in 1996 it would count. I could and did and I now understand I'm a Diamond Member on RCCL and soon to be an Elite Member on Celebrity:)

A while back my DH was told by an Azamara agent that if he could prove

he'd sailed on RCCL he would qualify for Capt's Club. So we dug up

photos clearly showing him on RCCL ships on more than one cruise.

He was then referred to the Capt's Club desk and they said, "No."

Will reciprocal benefits apply, between Azamara, Celebrity and Royal Caribbean?

Subject: Azamara Cruises

Yes. Because the Captain's Club program has been extended to cover the new brand, reciprocity benefits remain unchanged. Azamara guests who are Captain's Club members will be credited on their Celebrity's Captain's Club account.

We were given Platinum status on RCCL because we were at Select on Celebrity. My understanding is that they are NOT combined but you are listed at the highest level reached on either RCCL or Celebrity. I do hope so because the upcoming cruise on Azamara will put us with 10 credits on Celebrity -- and it would be nice to be at Diamond with RCCL at Christmas!

It is true that they will not combine lines to get to your 10 but they would give you the highest level you obtained on one -- on the other.

My friend was able to use a picture of himself in front of the ship to prove one of his older cruise points.

This statement is true. However, you must have completed at least one cruise on each cruise line before this perk is available. If you have never cruise with Celebrity or RCI you will not be eligible for this benefit on your first cruise.

Same here. The responses don't match with the OPs question. I was quite confused. But I am glad it is not just me. Well, let me continue reading, maybe the solution is coming soon. :D

THANK YOU for noticing. The OP was asking NOT about CELEBRITY but AZAMARA cruiseline and if their staus carried over. We who posted on the AZAMARA site answered as we had been told from the Captains Club office, that Celebrity Capt. Club would be honored if you could show that you were a member or had sailed on a Celebrity ship, but that RCCL was not honored...period, was a separate entity from Celeb.

We appreciate your contacting us regarding your Royal Caribbean International cruise vacation. While it is true that Royal Caribbean International did acquire Celebrity Cruises, the two lines are operated as separate entities and will continue to have separate identities. As such, there are no plans to merge shipboard programs including past guest recognition programs. Letter also states that status level is recognized AT THE ELITE etc. level, not the lower level. ALL in all it's the CRUISE LINE THAT"S CONFUSING!

We are Diamond members on RCI. We have sailed twice with Celebrity. In October we sailed on the Azamara Journey and were given a Captain's Club status of Elite.

I think some of the confusion is that they do not combine cruises from each line to move you up in status. But will acknowledge your highest status attained at either line.

Since Celebrity/Azamara has such limited advantages to the Captain's Club I don't know why anyone bothers. When we were on the Journey in Sept. and booked a future cruise on Quest, I asked about the one category upgrade. She said, "Oh, that doesn't apply to Azamara". If that doesn't apply, what does?

Andy...just askin...

Hi Nancy,

IMO and FWIW, the Celebrity FAQ is not only confusing, it's misleading.

If they have changed their policy the paragraph needs to either be removed from the website, or edited for clarity.

As I posted before, on Celeb's FAQ page it very clearly answers the question of reciprocity between RCCL, Celebrity and Azamara.

And the answer states, "Yes."

To me the statement means

there is reciprocity between all three cruise lines. Therefore, RCCL sailings would apply to Azamara. DH says I'm not always logical but

this seems like simple logic.

How many meanings does "yes" have?

Laura

PS. Perhaps they need to delete "Royal Caribbean" from

the FAQ answer.

We have 6 cruises with RCL. Last year we booked a Celebrity cruise. We were given a Captain's Club number with Celebrity equal to having sailed 6 times with them. We then cancelled the cruise. When we booked with Azamara, we used the Captain's Club number and were treated as though we had 6 cruises with Celebrity. I think that was the middle category. It got us a coupon book and we used the 10% additional minutes on the internet, 2 free coffee drinks at the speciality restaurant, and casino chips. We were also invited to a cocktail party with free flowing drinks. Don't know if that was because the Captain had just announced we would be going to Tampa instead of Miami or they will all be "just order what you want at the bar."

If you have 5 points with RCI you will become Platinum status - this is then recognised by Celebrity Captain Club loyalty scheme - where you will be given a number at Select level.

Most CaptC perks apply to Azamara. The only glaring exception is that the 1 category stateroom upgrade does not.

Ok, this is how it was explained to me by the Captain's Club. My 3 RCI cruises would not count on Azamara, but my 1 Celebrity cruise will. So I was given a select member booklet in my cabin.
This is the same info I was given!

As I said once before...the Celebrity main office...code named :"The Misinformation Ministery", every person get a different answer. I won't call, and emails are SOOOO SLOOOOW to be answered.
