tony@stanton19.freeserve. Posted November 18, 2007 #6 Share Posted November 18, 2007 At last, more Thomson Cruisers. Hopefully this will attract more UK Cruisers to CC. Have been flying the flag on CC for a few years with only a few UK posters to keep me company. The boards have been US dominated as they have mainly covered US based cruises. They have no idea what the Thomson/ Airtours brand is all about and how it fits in with our package holiday ethos. Although we have cruised Carnival and NCL, I think that the Thomson/ Airtours type cruise is brilliant and caters well for our needs very well. Hopefully the Thomson Board will open up this section of the market as it has done with the P&O and OV boards.
sobral Posted November 18, 2007 #7 Share Posted November 18, 2007 Yes I came acroos cc and found hardly any Brits- all American reviews etc Not enough Thomson cruisers submit to reviews, even on Cruise.co.uk reviews, where are they all???? We will have to start new threads and hope Thomson cruisers contribute. wow! your signature is impressive!!! I have mainly cruised on Thomson but I am going on Sea Princess in May to get married- only because Thomson dont do weddings at sea!

My signature is not that impressive, just have been around CC too long with nothing better to do. I like to post pictures as people ask to see pictures of ships etc and it's easier to refer them to your signature. Most of these have been from the US CC'ers but I suspect I will now start to add some of the Thomson Ships Hope your Sea Princess cruise is brill. The American newer ships have a real WOW factor and more glitz. You will notice the difference. Prepare to be amazed. I still like the more home grown Thomson feel though
Shelledpea Posted November 20, 2007 Author #9 Share Posted November 20, 2007 The American newer ships have a real WOW factor and more glitz. You will notice the difference. Prepare to be amazed. I still like the more home grown Thomson feel though I don't quote the cruises hubby & self worked on in sig. We went on Concordia as our T/A promoted it as Carnival without the prices ~ she couldn't have been more wrong! Hence we were grabbed by the glitz & wow factor of the pre launch material~ this was the wrong thing to do!! The glitz and glamour in the brochure turned out to be tacky, nasty and ruined by the time we boarded ~ maybe if more effort had been put into the materials it would have looked better, but metallic foil as door coverings doesn't bode well! Gold paint was flaking and the pool was rusting! the casino just looked cheap and gaudy & not in the way implied in the brochure! We as a family love cruising with Thomson especially after cruising with Costa. I don't think a Thomson ship would ever be allowed to get to the point Concordia had when we boarded (~ just 6 months after the launch) where there was graffitti all over the place (lifts, tables, bars, sunbeds, walls, paintings, etc!). The staff loved you for being British but hated you for wanting a drink at 2am. The waiting on staff thought lager should only be served in 300ml measures and that two women should not consume a bottle of wine with dinner let alone lunch! God Thomson we've missed you and can't wait to get back on board! Shame our American friends can't cruise with us in January after the shambles we have previously encountered! well I'm getting off my soapbox now! Shell LONG LIVE THE THOMSON CRUISE!!
