Gold Creek Salmon Bake - Juneau

Has anyone gone to the Gold Creek Salmon Bake in Juneau?

How was the food, site, views? About how long did it take?

I've found alot of excursion companies offering this. Did you book through your cruise line or independently?

I have that tour booked myself and have had people tell me the salmon is delicious. But I can't speak from self-experience.

We're considering the Gold Creek Salmon Bake, too. We'll be there toward the end of August. Must we book before arriving in Juneau or can we book the day we're port.

Just returned last week from Alaska. Cold Creek Salmon Bake was delicious. We arrived via floatplane and total trip took approx 3.5 hrs. I booked through Celebrity prior to sailing and would suggest you book in advance. Gets very busy. Have a great trip.

The Gold Creek Salmon bake is via BUS. The above is probably talking about Taku Glacier salmon bake??? The bake is excellent and they run a loop bus from the dock area. We have had salmon bakes a couple of places in Alaska and loved them all. Also love the idea that they keep asking you if you want more and they keep baking it right on the open grill.

The food is pretty good at the Gold Creek Salmon Bake. It is definately reached by *bus* and the grounds seemed pretty. The group that I was with pretty much ate and ran. [img]http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif[/img]
